HYGIENE AND SAFETY
Be aware that farm animals, even those in show condition, can carry infections such as E Coli that can be harmful to people. These infections are most likely to be transmitted by coming in contact with animal faeces (dung).
Follow these simple rules to keep you and your family safe:
Avoid touching animals
Washing hands thoroughly with soap and water will reduce the chance of infection
Do not allow children to put fingers in their mouths if they have touched animals or allow them to have dummies that have dropped to the ground
Do not eat or drink while touching animals
Do not go into animal pens. Even the most docile looking animal can suddenly act out of character and as well as picking up animal poo on your shoes you can also carry infection to animls.
